JAPANESE WOODCUT WATERCOLOR PRINTS
may 16th, 6-9pm
Quick to learn but difficult to master, Japanese Woodcut Printmaking is a safe and economical way to make unique handmade works of art. You’ll leave class with a block you carved, prints you printed, and the knowledge you need to practice at home. This relief printing technique is done entirely by hand and with minimal tools; this makes it possible to complete prints from start to finish nearly anywhere!
Lathe Tool Basics
May 18th, 6-9pm
Gain confidence with this powerful and traditional tool by taking our 3-hour class designed to cover all the basics. This skills-based class provides hands-on time on the lathe under the direct supervision of an experienced woodworker. A selection of knives, gouges, and chisels are demonstrated and practiced, and students learn how to sharpen and keep tools sharp using safe, proper cutting techniques. The class is limited to four students, so sign up to secure your spot now!
PLASMA CNC BASICS
may 23rd, 6-9pm
This class teaches students how to set up, safely use, and troubleshoot common problems with the plasma CNC in the ADX Metal Shop. Learn how to format, upload and print your files, as well as how to set up the CNC and make sure it runs smoothly and safely. While basic design and file setup are covered, this class focuses primarily on how to operate the plasma CNC machine.

heritage school of interior design
ADX is excited to partner with Heritage School of Interior Design for their new Furniture Design & Fabrication course. In this intensive 7-week course, students will build a chair, bench, stool, folding chair, or another piece of furniture that can be used for seating. Students have the flexibility to be creative and experimental during the design phase. Students should expect to gain an understanding of the design and building process and will learn to use “prototype” language.
Heritage students will be in the shop Fridays 9am to 1pm from April 27th through June 8th. Be sure to say hello if you see these students around the shop!
