block printed canvas bags
At ADX, we’ve found that working with our hands and using practical design skills is a great way to get out of a rut and boost creativity.
Working together at ADX can help your team build hard and soft skills while fighting burnout. Our instructors craft engaging design challenges that develop your groups’ skills and bring them together as a team. Participants naturally develop leadership skills in guided collaborative projects designed specifically for your group.
ADX offers numerous learning opportunities that focus on experiential learning and collaboration as a way to engage you, your friends, colleagues, neighbors and employees. Choose from our standard class offerings or customize your experience.
This group used a combination of screen printing and hand carved blocks to print their own designs onto tote bags.
We will have an instructor lead your group through the project, start to finish. They will teach you how to use any tools needed and be there to trouble shoot problems.
Projects can be completed in one day or a series of days for a larger project. The project can have more room for creativity, like block printing, or more structured, like an Edison bulb lamp. We will take care of the set up, materials and clean up!
If your team or group could benefit from this type of hands on experience please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We offer different projects that will suit the needs of your group. Check out our website to see which Group Class will work for you!

t-shirt basics: screen printing
november 1, 6-8pm
Learn how to print your own production run of T-shirts using ADX’s 4-color press! Building on the basics covered in Intro to Screenprinting, this course will cover the production process behind printing a multi-color design onto shirts, napkins, and most any small-to-medium sized fabrics.
Wood and metal table series
begins November 6, 6-9pm
This 5-session series is the full package! Start in the Wood Shop by collecting, arranging, cutting, and gluing up exotic wood scraps* for a unique tabletop; plane the completed boards, and add finishing oil or poly topcoat. While in the metal shop, prepare and cut metal for a stand, weld, grind new welds and rough edges, and paint if desired. Finally, assemble the tabletop to the stand for a totally unique piece of furniture, all under the tutelage of a very talented ADX Maker.
This 5 session course begins on 11/6 and continues on the following weeks, 11/13, 11/20, 12/4, and 12/11. THIS SERIES WILL SKIP THE WEEK OF 11/27. Please confirm with your schedule that you will be available to attend each session.
* Our generous neighbor-makers Renovo Bikes have donated lots of small chunks of beautiful exotic hardwoods; pieces are the perfect size for this project, and there are a lot of wood types to choose from!
maker group discussion
october 28, 6-9pm
Do you have a project that you’ve finished and now you want some feedback? How about one in progress that you’ve hit a wall with and don’t know where to go now? Don’t hit your head against that wall trying to figure it out, bring it to our group discussion and let the community of makers share their insights! One of the best things about ADX is the variety of experiences and perspectives that we all have in our respective disciplines. Let’s harness the group energy into productive, thought-provoking conversations that will elevate our individual maker experiences. Come with your project no matter what stage of the process it is in. Be prepared to talk about it and bring questions for the group to consider. Class will roam throughout the factory floor from project to project; this is a great time to be inspired with new ideas and collaborate with other members!
Registration is required. This class is exclusive to members only, free, and BYOB!
