Build a well-designed and sturdy chair from scratch, using your own hands, by following Enzo Mari’s instructions from the book Autoprogettazione. Originally published in 1974, the book consists of plans for several easy-to-assemble furniture designs. More than a how-to, the book is a response to mass production and industrialization of furniture. Learning to make the Sedia 1 chair will challenge your perception of how the objects we use every day are produced and hold up over time.
This is a 4 part series that begins on November 19th, skips Thanksgiving weekend, and continues in December on the 3rd, 10th, and 17th. Please confirm with your schedule that you will be available to attend each session.
