Furniture Design and Fabrication – Chair Prototyping with Heritage
In this intensive 7-week course, students will build a chair, bench, stool, folding chair, or
another piece of furniture that can be used for seating. Students will have the flexibility to be
creative and experimental during the design phase. Students should expect to gain an
understanding of the design and building process and will learn to use“prototype” language.
Three skilled maker facilitators will be present and can accommodate up to 10 students total.
This course is offered through Heritage Interior Design School and begins on April 27th, primarily in the Wood and Metal shops at ADX Portland.
