The beauty of screen printing is that if something is flat you can print on it, including wood, metal, fabric, plastic and paper. It is a versatile medium used to quickly and cheaply make multiples of your artwork. Screen printing is fast-paced, fun, and can be either precise or experimental, depending on your goals as a maker. This class walks students through the creation of a two-color print from start to finish. Learn to coat and process screens and print posters. Students will walk away with several two-color posters, a solid understanding of the screen printing process, and a yearning to print a million things!
All materials will be provided, including ink, emulsion, paper and cleaning chemicals. 4-color printing press, pre-made screens, squeegees, exposure unit, drying racks, etc.
The non-member price includes 1 month of Print Shop Membership ($125 value!) so you can practice what you learned and get started on your next project!
***New members must still attend our New Member Orientation within 30 days of the class start date before you can work in the shops. Check your receipt after purchasing for your coupon code to waive the orientation fee ($25 value!). You may take the orientation before or after this class, your membership will begin on the day you have completed both.***
