Preparing your design for screen printing can be done in a variety of ways, but where to even start?! Come learn the steps and principles that assist the screen preparation process leading to an accurate, clean and registered final print. Digital and analog techniques are addressed in terms of how to adjust the photo-reactive exposure process including line thickness, opacity, and half-tones. CYMK, a photorealistic screen printing technique, is also introduced.
Image preparation using Adobe software, hand-drawn techniques, cut paper, and found objects.
All materials will be provided, including paper, various drawing tools and found objects. Image prep will folcus on using Adobe software (Photoshop and Illustrator), hand-drawing techniques, cut paper, and found objects.
While not required, we encourage you to take Intro to Print Shop first. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are important, too; check out class listings for Photoshop Basics and Illustrator Basics.
