Stained Glass Panel Series
Learn basic stained glass techniques and walk away with a small glass art piece, ready to hang, in this three-session series. This class will cover all the basic steps needed to make a small stained glass hanging using a combination of copper foil and leaded glass techniques. Skills covered will include: tracing master drawing for patterns, using pattern shears, cutting sheet glass, using a glass grinder, and soldering with an iron. This accessible project is a great way to get comfortable with some basic tools and processes of stained glass, whether you’re interested in pursuing the medium further or are just looking for a fun project-based class.
This three-week series takes place on consecutive Wednesday evenings: 7/19, 7/26 and 8/2.
All the tools necessary to complete this project will be provided, including glass cutters, grinder, fid/lathekin and pattern shears.
All materials and consumables will be provided, including 60/40 Solder, sheet glass, flux, pattern paper, 7/32 copper foil, and finishing wax.

Dani first began Making in the house her grandparents lived in during her childhood on Brighton Place in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She attributes her creativity and passion for making to her family and the skills they shared including sewing, quilting, stained glass, graphic design, painting, drawing and photography. More than anything, she strives to continue these legacies and share her knowledge with others.

Classes are limited to 4 students to ensure lots of hands-on time with the tools and personal attention from the instructor.
