|Humans have been making jewelry for thousands of years. Now, it’s your turn! Embark on our Stone Setting Path and you’ll learn all the skills necessary to make beautiful, stone set rings and more!|
On this path, you’ll start out learning the fundamentals of jewelry making with our intro course. Then, you’ll learn the basics of soldering small metals. Finally, you’ll spend two days crafting your own Cabochon stone ring utilizing all the skills you’ve learned and practiced within your six-month tenure.
Intro to Jewelry and Metalsmithing
After taking the new member orientation, your path will begin with a refresher course on all things jewelry making. We’ll teach you the basic skills necessary to get started in our jewelry shop, including how to layout patterns on metal, saw, texture, form, and solder.
Jewelry Soldering Basics
You’ve learned the basics from Intro to Jewelry and Metalsmithing. Spent some time in the shop practicing your skills laying out patterns, using the hand tools and working with small metals. Now your path leads you into the more advanced technique of soldering – one of the most important skills needed for jewelry making!
Cabochon Stone Ring Series
Basics? Check. Soldering skills honed? Check. Now it’s time for the big project! The final class on your path will challenge all of your newly found skills. Over the course of two days you’ll learn how to make a ring from scratch and design and set a stone.
Explore, Build, Grow
Woo! You’ve knocked out three classes and spent some time in the shop using our tools. What’s next on your path? Will you use your membership time to add the finishing touches to your dream project? Will you take more classes (with your member discount!)? Collaborate on a project with another member? Start another project? The rest of this path is up to you!
